Panzerfaust - Gnome Voltigeurs

Initially when I saw the gnomes on the kickstarter I wasn't too bothered by them, however when I saw them in person I was really impressed and picked up a section to have a mess about with.

I decided to follow the same colour scheme that I'd done previously

panzerfaust painting gnomes

however this time round I wanted to make note of what arms go with what models, as I've a feeling that I'll end up getting a few units of these as well as helping out the masses!

one point to note is that these pictures are resin arms, recently the decision was taken to replace the resin with metal arms.

so the whole idea behind this was a dug in section, I had a dig about and got some medium flames of war bases and went for the models on a base, technically the "foot print" of the unit is slightly smaller than it should be but hey unless your playing a numpty its not really that much of a problem.

I opted for three models per base

in my ultimate wisdom I didn't take any pictures of how I built up the substructure, however I used bits of thin mdf that are left over from kits and cut them into strips, the I stuck chunks of cork on then hit it with a sand and broken oyster shells

I sorted out which models would fit the bases and simply cut off the knees and stuck them in.

I painted the infantry the same way as the previous guys and the mud was simply dark brown, English uniform then German cam beige.

And that's it nice and simple, I need to pick up some more bits at some point and spotted the command section the other week so I'll see when I get get my hands on those and some how theme them into the dug in look.

Panzerfaust - Painting the deathless zombies

A couple of months ago I managed to get my hands on a set of the new deathless zombie guys, and in true Anton style I threw some paint on them.

They ended up coming to Crisis last month and did get asked a fair few times how I painted them so it'd be rude not to do a blog post eh!

Sticking them together was fairly simple and didn't have to load up the KS pictures (unlike the gnomes! however I've something coming for that!)

so with the panzerfuast resin I don't bother washing it unlike the forgeworld stuff the undercoat sprays go on with no issues, and I've painted all the dwarves and some of the orcs for the demo table and had no issues at all.

So a bit of brain storming with regards to paint scheme with Rob and Russian style guys was the final decision, quite apt for me as I love painting all things Russian!

so I grabbed by can of plastic solider Russian uniform green spray and gave it a blast.

this was then followed by a quick dry brush of Russian uniform and the picked out the webbing in a khaki colour.

Once that was one I got some elf flesh and did the skin.

As with all good zombies I wanted the just had lunch look and got some red and applied to the bits of the model, but I didn't want to go over the top so kept it quite simple.

so the unit before the usual army painter strong ink wash, the weapons and other odds and sods were picked out before the red was done.

Once the ink dried and I got some of the GW technical paint and applied it to the previous red areas and that was it, all that was left is to base them.

That's it, nice and simple!

I've got some other deathless stuff in the form of the command, support and brute to stick together and splash some paint on so these should be on the table once I've cleared some room!

Zombie Astronauts!

In my usual "Anton" manner I tend to pick up all sorts of random bits when I'm at shows that I wouldn't normally consider buying if sat in my pants in front of my PC.

Usually the random models that I pick up never see the light of day however today is not that day.

a quick splash of paint and before you can Negan boom they are sorted!

really simple to paint and the white I did roughly the same as the firestorm and dropzone models a while back.

Gaming wise I'm thinking of using the for This is Not a Test on the pure basis of the rule of cool, and recently the European package has cleared UK customs so hopefully it shouldn't be too long before I can flick though the rule book on the throne!

along the same lines I've been faffing about with some bits I came across whilst cleaning out the geek room and threw these together,

I've not ordered any of the MDF kits that I was looking at however Tim did and has told me that they are really nice so once I've cleared a bit more stuff out and have enough in my paypal I'll go shopping!

The Pledge - Nov

And within a blink of an eye the month was gone!

Even though my blog activity has been pretty naff, I still managed to crack out a fair bit!

Bought - 33

Painted - 56

Difference +23

Lots of random things this month which I'll get posted up over the next couple of weeks, with a combo of work going bonkers and the big man arriving in a couple of weeks I'm sure my painting will slow down!

The planned GoA Freeborn army has sat on the side lines and the K47/Bolt Action Japanese are part way though so in theory I could paint 2 armies to finish off 2016!

Place your bets!
